When to Call EIM

The interim manager was first known for intervening in a crisis situation.

These are not, however, the only times when a company may benefit from their intervention. Other common situations see the interim manager as a tool to accelerate change when a company is experiencing – or planning – growth and business development.

A company may decide to look for an interim manager for different reasons.

Some examples include:

  • corporate growth phase that requires a new structure
  • internationalisation and expansion of its business outside national borders
  • development and launch of new products, services or business lines
  • generational shift or need to follow a corporate management path
  • management of new acquisitions
  • reduced growth phase
  • management crisis
  • company reorganisation
  • financial stress situation
  • decline in profitability
  • decline in company performance compared to competitors

If any of these situations happen in a moment of managerial void, or when the present resources lack specific technical skills or have an insufficient level of seniority, the slowdown due to lack of know-how leads to an inevitable loss of profit.

In these cases, the intervention of an external manager with proven experience and a fresh mindset proves to be the right solution to enable effective change and a fast return to a profitable growth.

Managers from the EIM Community, supported by an EIM local partner, apply the EIM Methodology, analysing the circumstances and proposing a systematic approach which aims to rebalance the situation, leading the company to a sustainable and profitable future.

Depending on the client’s needs, the intervention of our interim managers can take the form of a few months’ remedial action or a medium-term project over a longer period of time. The purpose of every mission is to make the company autonomous in the management of its own processes, in order to maintain the achieved results over time.
